
From May 13th to June 2nd, the "Seminar on Sustainable Development Capacity Building of Special Economic Zone for Solomon Islands" is being held in Haikou, Hainan Province, China. The event is hosted by the Ministry of Commerce of China and organize by the International Cooperation and Exchange Center of the Department of Commerce of Hainan Province. A total of 24 participants from the Solomon Islands is attending the seminar, including Mr. Riley Henao Mesepitu, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Commerce, Industry, Labour and Immigration of the Solomon Islands.
During the seminar, the participants conduct in-depth field visits to various locations in Hainan, such as the Wenchang Aerospace City State-owned Trading Company, Chunguang Food, Sanya Central Business District, Yazhou Bay Science and Technology City, Nanqiang Village, and the Haikou Jiangdong New Area. They also will travel to Shenzhen's High-tech Park and private enterprises for exchange and study. Through these field surveys and discussions, the seminar aims to share China's successful experiences in industrial park construction and development, assist the Solomon Islands in enhancing their planning and management capabilities for special economic zones, and promote deeper bilateral economic and trade cooperation.
